George Lawrence is the headmaster of Wu Xing Chinese Martial Arts. He began training in Chinese martial arts in 1963. He has a total of 14 years of training under 5 Chinese teachers. What he practices and teaches today comes primarily from Masters Wang Yihai and Liang Jiebing.
Master Lawrence has been teaching in his own schools continuously since 1975. He has taught more than 2,000 people. Before returning home to Vermont, he presided over the largest Chinese martial arts school in Boston, teaching there for 3 decades.
Today Master Lawrence is recognized as a Grand Master of Chinese martial arts, with training, experience, and certifications as:
Grand Master, 10th duan, Pudaoquan
Grand Master Instructor, Taijiquan
Military Combatives Instructor
Natural Health Consultant
Master Lawrence is a graduate of Boston University, with undergraduate and graduate work in international relations and Chinese studies. He served in the U.S. Army.

Hannah Weisman is a student and teacher of Taijiquan at Wu Xing Chinese Martial Arts. She has been training in Taijiquan with Master Lawrence since 2007 and also trains in Pudaoquan.
Hannah graduated from Mount Holyoke College and earned a master's degree in museum studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program. She currently resides in the Bay Area, where she is the executive director of the Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life at UC Berkeley.
