Master George Lawrence

George Lawrence was the headmaster of Wu Xing Chinese Martial Arts. He began training in Chinese martial arts in 1963. He had a total of 14 years of training under 5 Chinese teachers. What he practiced and taught came primarily from Masters Wang Yihai and Liang Jiebing. 


Master Lawrence taught in his own schools continuously since 1975. He taught more than 2,000 people. Before returning home to Vermont in the 2000s, he presided over the largest Chinese martial arts school in Boston, teaching there for 3 decades. 


Master Lawrence was recognized as a Grand Master of Chinese martial arts, with training, experience, and certifications as:


Grand Master, 10th duan, Pudaoquan

Grand Master Instructor, Taijiquan

Military Combatives Instructor

Natural Health Consultant


Master Lawrence was a graduate of Boston University, with undergraduate and graduate work in international relations and Chinese studies. He served in the U.S. Army.
