Master George Lawrence created Wu Xing (Woo Shing) Chinese Martial Arts to offer instruction in Taijiquan (Tai Chi) and Pudaoquan (Pu Dao Kung Fu) at an affordable price and in a non-competitive environment. The school had a friendly, conversational atmosphere.
Master Lawrence practiced and taught Yang-style Taijiquan (Tai Chi). Roughly translating to "Supreme Ultimate Fist/Boxing," Taijiquan is one of 3 major internal martial arts of China. Internal arts train from the inside out, seeking to regulate the mind, will, breath, and qi (ch'i) to let the body follow.
Master Lawrence practiced and taught Pudaoquan (Pu Dao Kung Fu) a traditional art with roots in the Shaolin Temple in China. But Pudaoquan is also a modern martial art, created around the dawn of the 19th century and passed down and built upon through subsequent generations.
Wu Xing Chinese Martial Arts is a member of the World Martial Arts Federation and the USA National Tai Chi Chuan Federation.
